Placer Auctions offers buyers the unique opportunity to bid on a range of items from the comfort of their home. We use our proven online auction system to offer a simple, fast, and secure alternative to in-person estate sales. We work closely with downsizing specialists, homeowners, real estate agents, and collectors to quickly appraise and liquidate a lifetime of possessions and valuables.
In order to bid on items you must have a Placer Auctions account. You will need a valid email address & Phone number. A valid credit card is required before you place a bid. Click here to register
If a bid is placed on an item that is about to close, the closing time will be extended by 30 - 240 seconds. See the exact extension times on the auction details page of each auction.
Most of the action happens on the final day so it is best to watch the auction close live. We recommend setting an alarm for the day the auction closes.

We use the proxy (automatic) method of bidding, meaning that we will bid on your behalf up to the maximum amount you have indicated (if necessary).
Consider bidding the highest amount you're willing to pay. We'll bid for you, just enough to keep you in the lead. We'll keep your high bid amount hidden from everyone else.
Here's how bidding works:
If the current bid is $50, and you bid $100, we bid $51 for you. If no one else bids, you win and pay $51.

Our auction events charge a 18% Buyer’s Premium. The Buyer’s Premium will be applied to your invoice upon checkout. For example, if you won an auction item for $100, your end purchase price would be $100 plus the $18 Buyer’s Premium for a final price of $118.
7.75 % California Sales Tax will be applied to all invoices.
To claim sale or use tax exemption, you must provide a fully executed, valid, complete, and accurate resale certificate. Items purchased before we have your reseller certificate on file will not be tax exempt.

Once the auction ends, the winning bidder's card on file will be immediately charged. If your card cannot be charged, you will have to pay your invoice manually through the “My Account” section of the website.
Items not paid for within 5 days of the auction ending will be considered abandoned. If payment is unsettled after 5 days, all lots will be resold, and bidding privileges will be revoked.
We accept only major credit cards. Payment must be made by card as we do not accept cash payments.

Pick-up times and location are listed on the details page of each online auction. Unless otherwise specified our online auctions are picked up Tuesday & Thursday 12:00PM - 4:00PM & Saturday 10:00AM - 1:00PM at our Roseville, CA location.
Please be aware we have a strict 14-day pick-up policy. All items must be picked up within 14 days of the auction closing. Any items not picked up within 14 days will be considered abandoned and will not be refunded. All winning bidders must pick up their items from the specified pick-up location.
Limited loading assistance will be available on pick-up day. Please come with adequate assistance for loading heavy items.

We have partnered with AIM Mail Center to offer shipping to our customers.
Upon request from the buyer, we will turn over your items and contact information to our shipping partner. They will then contact you and coordinate the packing & shipment of your items. We do not pack, label, insure, or track any items, and will not take responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft once items leave our facility. The shipping contract is between you (the buyer) and the shipping provider.
Please reach out via email and provide your phone number as well as a list of items you need shipped. Your order will not be processed until we receive an email requesting shipping.
