Candle Stands are stands designed to hold a candlestick, often composed of a column rising from tripod legs and supporting a circular or polygonal tray. This candle stand was made in the Georgian Pie Crust style, named for the ornate tabletop that resembles a pie crust, and the era that it represents. This candle stand was made by the renowned Nathan Margolis Furniture Shop, which was located in Hartford Connecticut, and was in operation from 1894 to 1973. This particular piece was made sometime between the 1940s and 1970s.
The candle stand features snake foot style carved feet, intricately cut joints, an ornately carved stem, and solid mahogany construction. The stand measures approximately 27" tall and 24" in diameter, and is in good condition.
