Description

The Stromburg-Carlson Company was based in Rochester, New York and was in operation between 1894 and 1991. Originally a telephone manufactuer, the Stromburg-Carlson Co. began manufacturing tube radios under license by RCA in the 1920s, and manufactured radios from 1924-1961 under the "Te-Lek-Tor-Et" brand. The Model 12A tube radio features 10 vacuum tubes and a console form factor made from dense hardwood. The radio features a single tuning dial and four different operating knobs and a front facing speaker behind two doors. The radio is also decorated with ornate carvings inspired y art nouveau stylings. The radio stands 42" tall, and measures 26.5" x 17". The radio has not been tested but appears to be in good condition.
