Description

The Heron, once had fat legs and his clumsiness scared the fish. He scraped his legs with a mussel shell knife, and his ordeal was well rewarded as his legs remained slender making him a most successful fisherman.

The Cougar, was the one who clawed the side of the whale causing great slits from the chin to the breast plate. A powerful medicine man, had the cougar on his totem pole at the base of Mt Ranier which gave the cougar more respect.

Susan J Coleman is known for her interpretive Northwest Coast Indian paintings. She is also a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
