This is a limited edition print of "Big Sur" by Peter Ellenshaw. It is print 540/950 and is signed by the artist. It is framed and matted with glass and a wire attached to the back for hanging. The print is in very good condition but the frame has some scratching and is seperating a little on one of the corners. Measures 24.25" x 39.5". Peter Ellenshaw was an English designer who is known for his work on classic Disney movies, including Mary Poppins (1964), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Born on May 24, 1913 in London, United Kingdom, Ellenshaw went on to apprentice with W. Percy Day, a well-known special effects artist and matte painter at Disney. In 1993, he was named a Disney Legend, which recognized his integral contribution to the Walt Disney Company. After retiring from the film industry, the artist devoted his life to painting seascapes, landscapes, and occasionally depictions of Winnie the Pooh. Ellenshaw died on February 12, 2007, in Santa Barbara, CA.
