Description

George Nelson Omni Two-Bay Floor-to-Ceiling Modular Shelving MCM Wall Unit. The Omni Shelving System was designed by George Nelson in 1959. The shelving system is supported by rectangular structural poles of anodized extruded aluminum with slits on each side. They are inserted using springs on both ends between floor and ceiling, and are cut to suit this purpose. In the slits, horizontal aluminum supports can be inserted for the shelves and shelving modules. This particular unit consists of three brass-tone T-slot anodized aluminum extrusion poles with rubber caps and feet, and 12 brass-tone metal shelf brackets to support four solid walnut plain cut shelves. The top and bottom shelf are one solid piece of wood, while the middle shelves are comprised of two planks set next to each other. Each shelf measures approximately 64.75"L x 12"D x .75"H and is adjustable. There is also a two-door cabinet at the bottom which measures approximately 30.75"L x 18"D x 24"H. All together, the wall unit measures approximately 65.25"L x 18"D x 93"H, with adjustable height. Good condition with some signs of normal use and wear.
