Description

This is a mixed media sculptural piece made by artist Christopher A. Pardell made for the “Legends” series of sculptures. This sculpture is called “Short Rest on the Long Trail”, and features Sacajawea, who was the spirit guide and interpreter for Lewis & Clark during their journey across the United States. Her very young child is accompanying her, and both are seated on horse that is stopping to take a drink from a river or pond. This piece is made from a combination of bronze, pewter, gold vermeil, and a wooden base. This statue is part of a limited run of 2500, and is numbered #53 in the series. The statue measures approximately 8” x 5.5” x 7”, and is in good condition.
