Description

The origins of Altavista Lane Company began in 1912, when John Lane purchased a box plant in Altavista, Virginia, and then has his son Ed Lane begin making cedar chests. Since then, Lane became part of the Heritage Home Group, and is responsible for making all sorts of furniture and accent pieces. This set of vintage Lane pieces were designed as part of their "Staccato" Brutalist style furniture, which features boxy protrusions of wood on the surfaces, giving the furniture a "deconstructed" look that became popular in the 1950s. The large "High Boy" dresser features two large double doors that reveal a shelving system inside, and three drawers towards the bottom. The two night stands feature a double door design with shelving inside. The dresser measures approximately 38" x 18.75" x 64", and the nightstands measure approximately 28" x 16.5" x 22.5". All of the pieces in this lot are in good condition.
