Description
Stoneware teapot featuring a rich brown color and finely carved details. The lid, handle and spout are carved to represent the ouroboros, a circular symbol that depicts a snake or dragon devouring its own tail representing the eternal cycle of life, destruction and rebirth. The sides of the teapot are etched with subtle designs: One side of the teapot has an image of a bird on a blooming branch, and the other side of the teapot has a Chinese symbol and blooming flowers. The teapot has a lid and strainer. Maker's mark engraved on the bottom. Measures approximately 9.5" long, 6" wide, 5.5" tall with an opening diameter of 3.5". Great condition.
